John R. Rougeux, 65 of Eustis, FL passed away on September 3, 2018. John believed in serving his community and country, first in the United States Army, and then as a Firefighter/Paramedic for 30 years. He retired as a Lt. with the Longwood Fire Department after 25 years of service. He was a devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church in Eustis, where he served on the Board of Trustees for 12 years. He led his Tuesday morning “men of faith” which grew to include women also, together they kept the grounds looking so beautiful. John believed in sharing his faith and made over 40 mission trips to Haiti with his church for Mission Haiti where he also served as Secretary for 5 years and President during this past year. John was a master of almost everything related to construction and he would be there in a heartbeat to help anyone at any time. He enjoyed fishing, boating, cruising, diving, camping, playing guitar, and he loved his Cold Water Sammiches. John is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jacky; his children: Josh, Shelly, Jennifer and Charles; his brother, Guy; his sisters Dolores and Denise; his 2 grandsons; and 1 great grandchild.
Services will be held on Saturday September 15, 2018, at Faith Lutheran Church and School, 2727 South Grove Street, Eustis, FL 32726 at 11:00 am with a luncheon immediately following to celebrate his life.
