Mary Etta was born to the late M.K. Harris and Emma Jane Harris on November 30, 1955 in Hazlehurst, GA (Jefferson Davis County). She was baptized at an early age Methodist in Stuart, FL. Mary Etta attended Martin County High School in Stuart, Fl. She relocated to Alexandria, VA, where she made home and went back to get her GED. Mary Etta was employed by McDonald’s for 20 years. She retired due to health reasons. Mary Etta loved to read, listen to music and watch her cooking shows. She was a loving, kind person. She took in her godchildren and raised their dies like there were her own grandkids. They called her “Nana”.
She is preceded in death by her dad, M.K. Harris; mom, Emma Jane Harris; son, Gregory LaShun Harris; sister, Janice McMillian; brother, Johnny Lee Harris; grandmother, Ada Lee Smith; and aunt, Marie Smith.
Mary Etta leaves to mourn her passing her loving and caring husband, Harvey Willingham; two daughters, Mrs. Stephanie Terry Gray of Augusta, GA, and Ms. Crystal Willingham of Arlington, VA; three grandkids: Hannah Gray and Faith Gray of Augusta, GA, and Da’Miyah Williams of Arlington, VA; three sisters: Joyce McCrimon of Hazlehurst, GA, Bobbie Orrie Finn and Tonja Carter of Fort Peirce, FL; brother, Tony D’Jion Harris of Port Saint Lucie, FL; four aunts: Jame Anna Ifill of Augusta, GA, Betty Jean Carter of Stuart, FL, Willie Jean George of Alexandria, VA, and Ada Hill of Hazlehurst, GA; one great aunt, Marie Cray of Hazlehurst, GA; Special godkids: Keisha Sanders, Juanita Johnson, Shaneece McBride; other godkids, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
