Jacquelyne Kay Floyd (Jacque) of Ft. Worth, Texas, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, November 24th, 2019, at the age of 73. Jacque was born on October 13th, 1946 in Omaha, Nebraska to Jack and Pauline Furlong. She was the oldest of their four daughters. She had three sisters Debbie Furlong Shaklee (deceased), Stephanie Furlong Moore of Northlake, Texas, and Jennifer Furlong McBrannon of McKinney, Texas. Jacque grew up in Dallas, Texas (Oak Cliff) and graduated from Bishop Dunne High School in 1964. She studied at the College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska and the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. She studied History and Spanish at the University of Texas at Arlington where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1969. Before retiring, Jacque taught at St. Andrew Catholic School in Ft. Worth. She loved teaching and was devoted to her teaching career as well as her students. Even while struggling with various health issues Jacque always showed up to teach and always strived to find creative and innovative ways to reach her students, make learning fun, and motivate them to want to learn.
Jacque had many talents and hobbies. She loved to read and like her mom was an excellent seamstress and artist. In addition, although her husband Jerald joked that she couldn’t boil a hot dog when they were married, Jacque became an amazing cook as well.
Jacque was married to Jerald Anthony Floyd on June 28th, 1969. They were married for almost 46 years before Jerald’s passing on March 30, 2015. They resided in Ft. Worth, Texas and had four children; Kevin Floyd of Mount Dora, Florida, Catherine Floyd McFarland of North Richland Hills, Texas, Stephen Floyd of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Nicholas Floyd of Savannah, Texas. She was the proud grandmother of 15 wonderful grandchildren that she adored and loved very much.
Jacque is preceded in death by her husband Jerald A. Floyd, her parents Jack and Pauline Furlong, and her sister Deborah Shaklee, who donated her kidney to Jacque which amazingly lasted for nearly 24 years. Jacque is survived by her children Kevin Floyd and his wife Alice, Stephen Floyd, Catherine Floyd McFarland, and Nicholas Floyd and his wife Rebecca. She is also survived by her 15 beautiful grandchildren, her sister Stephanie Furlong Moore, her sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Kenny McBrannon, and her brother-in-law Randy Shaklee. She is remembered by her uncles and aunt in Omaha, Nebraska and aunt in Austin, Texas, cousins in Omaha, Nebraska and Texas, and many nieces and nephews who loved her very much. In addition, Jacque was lucky to have many very good and longtime friends who loved her as well.
Jacque was born and raised in the Roman Catholic Church and always remained faithful to her beliefs. Her faith in God gave her the strength to beat the odds and overcome many different health issues throughout her adult life. Now she is at peace, never to struggle or suffer again.

How can one leave just one memory? She was the best mother in law one could ever have. She left many memories with me. May you rest high on that mountain. You deserve it.
