My heart goes out in sympathy to the family. I had only met John at one North Texas HSP and PLS Connection on Zoom which he had helped Celyna establish. He was such a help for her when she became Ambassador of the North Texas area as he had once been before he was editor of the Synapse. He was a great servant and leader for the HSP and PLS community. He will be missed.

Although I never met John in person, we communicated through email about articles for The Synapse. He was extremely thorough and thoughtful. He will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.

We were sad to hear that John had gone home to his place in Heaven. We were privileged to serve with John on the Stewardship Committee at Advent Lutheran Church. John was a great team leader and was the most organized and precise individual hat we have known in a volunteer position.
Please accept our deep sympathy in your time of loss.
In Christ, Dave Botterman & Kris Johnson

Tim and I are tremendously saddened by John’s passing. He quietly did so much for SPF and the Synapse. He would strive for perfection in everything and believed that it reflected in us. Thank you, John, for encouraging me to write. Our sympathies to all of the Staehle family.

I will greatly miss John as he was a kind and friendly person and a wonderful mentor to me patiently walking me through every detail to be a SPF Ambassador. I have never met him in person, but I am glad he was able to attend our North Texas Connection Zoom meeting in August, it was a great moment to hear from his experiences in overcoming challenges imposed by HSP.
I am thankful for the many things John did for HSP and PLS community.

Sending prayers for the family. I never met John but we chatted through SPF Synapse Newsletter emails. He was always kind and strived to publish only top notch news for persons with HSP and PLS. Rest in peace.

John was a good friend of mine for many years. We worked together on the board of The Spastic Paraplegia Foundation. He was a remarkably thorough, effective and kind man that we will all miss tremendously!!
