On Monday July 27, 2020, John Peter Trimmings, loving husband, and father of two, peacefully passed away at the age of 78. John was born on March 23, 1942 in Toronto, Ontario Canada to Harold and Jean (Gareau) Trimmings. After coming to the Unites States at the age of 12, John served faithfully in the US Air Force as far away from home as Libya, and was married to Josephine Prizzi on April 8, 1967. After serving, John worked from Manhattan to Vermont to Virginia working for Honeywell, IBM, Dominion Semiconductor, Micron and finally retiring from the US Patent office in 2015. John enjoyed the time he spent on or in the water with family. Whether it be on his boat off the east coast or on the beaches of St. Croix, he was in his glory. John was preceded in death by his father Harold and his mother Jean. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Josephine, sons John (Karey) and Joseph (Thalita), loving grand-children Emma, John, Sarah, Joseph and Julia. John also leaves his sisters Jeannette and Jacqueline, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank John’s caregivers at Capital Caring Health. Arrangements will be private with immediate family.

May God Bless John and keep him safe in Heaven. John was such a good and intelligent man who loved family, friends, and dogs. I was always proud to have him on "our side" through any condo issue. I pray for comfort for Jo, Joe, Lita, and all of John's family. I thank God we were able to party with John when we could. My heart is with you all. 💕🙏🏻💕

John was such a nice man and we will miss him at Montebello. While soft spoken, he always had a kind word and a smile. We will keep John in our memories and all of his family in our prayers.

My Family would like to offer our sincere condolences to John's family. I first met John when I was 6 years old , when we visited in Beacon New York. At that time he was a pilot and offered to take me and my sister for a ride in his plane.
Sincerely , Cousin Ken, Michelle and Dillon Atkins
