She was born on February 21, 1938, in Chillicothe, MO to John Elver & Nigal (Dayton) Seidel.
She graduated Chillicothe High School in 1956 and attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO. She married Walter Paschang in 1958 and they had three children. She was a teacher’s aide in the Chillicothe R-II Schools for students with Learning Disabilities for over 20 years. After retirement she and Walter moved to Imperial, MO to be closer to their five grandchildren where she lived another 30 years.
Known as Arva or Arvy to her friends, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother with a huge heart and many talents. She loved quilting, sewing, baking, gardening, and was an excellent cook. She loved the sunshine and enjoyed spending time with family in nature, boating, camping, water skiing, and especially loved playing golf. She was a loving homemaker, a generous steward with a huge heart and was happiest taking care of others.
She is survived by her daughter Martha Paschang of O’Fallon, MO, daughter Lisa (Jaime) Klipsch of St. Louis, and a son, John (Robin Kretzer) Paschang of Arnold, MO, grandchildren, Jack Klipsch, Andrea Klipsch, Cassie (Zak Fox) Paschang, Allie Paschang, Marissa Paschang, and one great grandchild, Zane Fox, her brother Charles “Pete” Seidel (Mary) of Kansas City, and brother-in-law Bob Minnick of Columbia, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Paschang, her parents, and her sister Wanda Minnick.
Visitation for Arva will be held on Friday November 17, 2023 11:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home 1081 Jeffco Blvd. Arnold, MO 63010. Funeral service will be celebrated Friday 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
