GRIFFARD, Scott F., 48 succumbed to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) after suffering through symptoms and ultimately spending nearly a week on a ventilator. Scott was the most beloved husband of Kelly R. (nee McClanahan) Griffard.

Loving father of Alex Griffard, Erica (Mark) Brown, Nicole Kritzer, Jake (Becca Shaffer) Konradt, Leo, Tempe and Lilly Hill. Adoring Pop Pop to Sam, Oliver and Eli Brown and Laila Konradt. Loving son of Joan (Rick) Griffard and the late Leonard (Sandy [Tom] Glasser survives) Griffard. Brother of Lynn (Nic Matarazzi) Griffard. Son-in-law of Jack and Karen Williams; Brother-in-law of Terri Shelton, Cyndi and Patrick Weir. Our cherished uncle, great-uncle, nephew, cousin, co-worker and friend to many.

Scott had an amazing capacity to Love. He loved so so BIG. He’d been known to readily give money, a sandwich, a chicken (yes, that happened…a whole chicken), or even just a respectful acknowledgement and smile to folks down on their luck. If you met him, he remembered you and showed you that he cared in some way small or large. If you needed a helping hand, a sympathetic ear, someone to share a laugh or just the best, biggest hug, Scott was your guy.

Scott was an active member at Encounter Church, and loved his Wednesdays and Sundays spent in company with fellow members. If desired, memorial donations may be made in Scott’s honor to The Alzheimer’s Association, a charity he supported in memory of his father. www.alz.org or to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org/donate-to-ada

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday July 11, 2020 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at the Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home 1081 Jeffco Blvd. Arnold, MO. with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 1:00 pm. in the funeral home chapel.

Scott was my work buddy. We always looked out for one another if we had challenges or were struggling with a task. He made mandatory training fun and full of laughs. When ever you needed to bend an ear, he would stop what he was doing and listen. He never rushed you out of his office and always volunteered when anyone ever needed anything. He will be missed and I feel I am lucky to have known him; very lucky.

I think Scott must have been born with a few angels on his back because as he grew from the first time he got his first cousins till he passed on from this life he always. Always. Always had a kid on his back, his head, his shoulders. It was his happy place- making people smile. Love you forever Scott. Till we meet again face to face!

It was awesome to visit at Christmas break and Scott got Imo’s Pizza! I hadn’t had pizza for over a year, let alone Imo’s, it tasted like it came from heaven!!! I swear, you don’t realize until it’s too late, how much more time you should’ve spent with someone so special😔

Scott truly was the one of the absolute BEST Father Husband and friend. I met Scott and Kelly when they became my grandchildrens foster parents. The overwhelming joy I had knowing how much he love adored and loved my grandbabies. Gave me such peace Now with overwhelming sorrow I say goodbye to a truly amazing Man. Who I know was welcomed into heaven on Angels wings.

I have many favorite memories with Scott, and they were always joyful, hilarious, and he was always there to help. I would have to say my by far favorite is a time me and Nikki weren’t having a good night, and during a heartfelt conversation where he was helping us he started using lyrics from songs to get us to laugh. And it obviously worked, we would be in sad tears then the next we’re laughing our butts off. All his dad jokes were the best, and the funniest puns. I am so thankful for the times I had with him. I couldn’t tell you how many times he came to help me and I never even called him for the help. He was truly an amazing person. I will miss him, and miss hearing Nikki share what silly thing they did that day- because there was a lot!

I couldn’t find any of the pics but my most favorite memories of time spent with our families was in Ozora, Mo at Ozora Lake...Such good times and memories I have always cherished and will more so now than ever. Playing with the kids bouncing them in the tubes across the lake with the boat. Couldn’t have asked for better times. Rest easy Scott you will be missed by so many.
