Mary Boyd Cobb

Mary Boyd Cobb, 92, of Athens, GA passed away Monday, April 14, 2014.

A native of Adel, GA, Mrs. Cobb was the daughter of the late Edgar F. Boyd Sr and Mae Powell Boyd and was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Jefferson Cobb Sr and brother, Edgar F. Boyd Jr. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and member of the Elijah Clarke Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Cobb was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church of Athens.

Survivors include children, Samuel J. Cobb Jr of Houston, TX, Anita Cobb Pinson and husband, Larry R. of Nicholson, and Thomas D. Cobb of Athens; grandchildren, Leigh D. Hardy and Tanya N. Mallow and husband, Brian D.; and great-granddaughter, Arial N. Skwarek.

Graveside services will be held 3PM Saturday, April 19th at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. Luther Fouche and Rev. Alan Mace officiating.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 855 Gaines School Rd, Suite G, Athens, GA 30605.

Mary was the best Mother-in-Law that anyone could ever want. She was unfailingly supportive, non judgmental, and kind. She never interfered but always offered sound advice if asked. I loved her well and will remember her often.
