Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Friday, May 17, 2019, for Cathy Jean Peterson Billingsley, age 69 of Attalla, who passed from this life on May 14, 2019. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Morgan Chapel officiating.

Mrs. Billingsley was born in Etowah County and lived in Gadsden and Attalla until her death. Jean worked at Health Tex until the plant closed. She then attended Gadsden State and received a degree in childcare. Jean loved children and talking to people. She never met a stranger. She loved being outdoors, swimming, playing, and teaching all her children, great and grand, and anyone else who wanted to join in. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. We will all love and miss her for the rest of our lives. “So cards, dominoes, and KaChing Jean.”

Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Bill Billingsley; daughters, Amy Usry, Kellie (Josh) Bussey , Rhonda (Phil) Wittek; sons, Logan (Brooke) McGraw and Eugene (Karen) Billingsley; sisters, Betty Allen and Beverly (Ronnie) Whiteport; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews; And special friends Cheryl Colvin Smith and Linda Freeland.

Pallbearers will be Matt Adkins, Matt Kircus, Tyler Kircus, and P.J. Burkett.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Amedisys Hospice of Gadsden, especially Tyler and Ashley for their care and support.

Visitation will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 1:00pm until the time of service.
