Jean Johns Moats

Funeral services will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Steele Cemetery. Bro. Donnie Patterson to officiate.

Jean was born in St. Clair County on March 19, 1935. She was a member of Steele Methodist Church. Jean loved to sing in the choir and was involved in all church activities. She worked in the Steele School lunchroom, and served lunches to many children until she retired.

She was preceded in death by her father, Boyd B. Johns; mother, Frances Johns; husband, Billy K. Moats; and son, Gary K. Moats.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Paula "Suzy" Haynes (Joey); grandchildren, Brandon Haynes (Sydney), and Hannah Perez (Alex); and great-granddaughter, Violet Haynes.

Pallbearers are Alex Perez, Brandon Haynes, Phil Gleason, Jeremy Gonzales, Joey Haynes and Steve Walker.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the ICU Nurses at Riverview Regional Medical Center, and the special care she received at Gadsden Health & Rehab; may you all be blessed for the special care you provide.
