Donald Edward Shreve was born on December 21,1932 in Smithfield, West Virginia and passed on to Glory in Auburn, CA on July 19, 2021. When Don graduated from school he enlisted in the Air Force to serve during the Korean Conflict. Having been honorably discharged from the military he went to barber school in Ohio. He eventually ended up in California where he met his wife, Doris. He went to California Baptist College earning a degree in accounting. He worked in various barbershops while living in Southern California and owned a shop in Wrightwood, California. In 1967 he decided to move his family north and they settled in Roseville, California. He opened a barbershop in what is now named Granite Bay, California. He was considered the “mayor” of Granite Bay by many people.
Don loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart. His favorite work was to lead people to a saving grace in Jesus Christ his Savior. He was an ordained deacon and also served churches in various capacities from teaching Sunday school, to working on the finance board. When he retired he and Doris pulled up stakes, and traveled the US ministering in prisons, helping with disaster relief and working with a Port Ministry in Tampa, Florida.
Don is survived by 4 children, Robyn Wright, Ken Shreve, Donna Raya and David Shreve. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 40 soon to be 41 great grandchildren. His legacy will live on in these family members as they too continue to win people to the Lord and love God with all their heart!
