LEWISTON: Laurier A. Bisson, 78, of Lewiston passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 8th in the company of close friends. He was born in St. Methode, Quebec on September 30, 1940. Larry was the son to the late Adalbert Bisson and Cecile (Falardeau) Bisson. He came to the United States on August 24, 1959 and eventually settled in Lewiston where he met Lorraine D. Berube. They married on August 4, 1962 in Sabattus at Our Lady of the Rosary Church and the two started a family together. During that time, Larry was a hard working independent home builder for many years. He then worked as a carpenter at Bath Iron Works where he retired after twenty four years. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt, fish, ride his Can-Am motorcycle and most enjoyably playing horseshoes with friends and family.
Larry is survived by two sisters, Gisele Falardeau of Liverpool, New York and Jeannine Marszewski of Long, South Carolina; One brother, Jean-Marc and his wife Mary of East Syracuse; by his two children; David Bisson and his partner Kathleen Perron of Auburn, and Kristin Bilodeau of Greene as well as his three grandchildren; Derek Bisson of Ft. Lauderdale,Florida. Morgan and Brandon Bilodeau of Greene, Maine.
Visitation will be at The Fortin Group in Auburn on Saturday November 24 from 10:00 -11:00am followed by a Liturgy of the Word service at 11:00am also at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has started an annual scholarship fund that will assist future vocational students.
