I came to know Maymie through a senior fitness class being held at St. Mary's Hospital some years ago. Somehow I found out her birthday and sent her a card every year in the ensuing years. She always responded kindly by sending me a card to thank me for remembering her. Now and then we would meet while doing our grocery shopping at Hannaford in Lewiston. That was when she told me she had moved to Greene to be closer to her daughter. She was such a sweet lady even when her health began to decline. I shall miss our occasional meetings and her notes, which I have kept. My sincere sympathy to her family.
