Norbert Wilfred Strecker

After fighting Angiosarcoma Cancer for 2 ½ years Norbert passed away at his home. He is survived by his wife, Lolly. He is also survived by his children, daughter Lisa (Joe) Haslemann, San Jose, CA and son Jon (Pat) Strecker, Clovis, CA. One granddaughter, three Grandsons and Three Great Grandsons. He is also survived by a step daughter Lisa Charles, a step son Jeff (Jenn) Brooks, a step-granddaughter and two step-grandsons.

Born in Schwichteler, Germany to Elfriede Berta Mathilde Sofie Strecker, he and his mother survived World War II in Bremen, Germany.

Due to his mother’s illness, at age 8 in 1951 Norbert traveled to Hardwick, MN with his Aunt and Uncle Rudy and Fern Strecker where he would live.

On May 20, 1956, Norbert was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Hardwick, MN and professed his baptismal vow on October 3, 1946 at St. Petri Dom in Bremen.

Norbert exchanged the farm life for city life and a home life for dormitories in order to pursue his educational goals over the next eight years beginning at Concordia Academy and Junior College in St. Paul, MN, Concordia Senior College in Fort Wayne, IN and the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.

In 1965 Norbert married Sharon Trick. They would later divorce. Norbert and family moved to San Jose, CA in 1968 where he worked in the cemetery business for 20 years. His career life then moved to manufacturing working for KD Components. He stayed with this company through two corporate acquisitions. This career lead him to Carson City, NV where he continued in manufacturing working until retiring in 2008. He continued to work various jobs and returned to college to receive his business certification in 2011.

Norbert married Lolly Stoltenberg his childhood love in 2017 and lived with her in Aurora, CO until his death.

Norbert’s wish is for any remembrances be donated to Sarcoma Cancer Research. Due to COVID-19 a memorial service is pending at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Aurora, CO.

Norbert was such a wonderful man. He and Lolly had a warm, loving life together for a short time, and then the cancer came. He fought hard and long but at the end the Lord welcomed him into his Heavenly home. R.I.P., Norbert.

We were truly blessed to meet and get to know Norbert. He was a loving, caring man and it was our honor to get to know him. His love and devotion to Lolly was beautiful to witness and we have so many special memories of our times together. We will miss him greatly.

Norbert was a kind & gentle man who endeared himself to anyone he met. He was so devoted to Lolly, that was very clear. They made a great couple & we will miss him dearly.
