I met Larry when I was a few months from my 18th bday as Todd and I had just started dating. I remember one night that we walked into the house Larry had been playing cards with norma in the kitchen. Long story sorta short.
I didn't know many card games than so I was nervous. Larry said I could play poker, and he would teach me if I could cut the deck and get Ace of Spades. Well sure enough somehow I pulled a miracle that night A♠️ After that Larry was shocked and laughed that hardy laugh of his. That night I felt so happy and lucky to feel so accepted by him and everyone.
He taught me so much more than card games, as I lived with them for about a year when i was 18. He was always cheerful even in the morning, when he would wake me up with a "pitter patter let's get ater". Thank you for being there when I needed you. RIP Big Lars, you will be missed. ❤

Great memories of Larry during my time in Oak Ridges. Larry and Norma were always there pitching in to help with any sports there kids were involved in.

From the Oak Ridges Minor Ball, Oak Ridges Minor Hockey to the Oak Ridges Men's Hockey "Big Lars" was there helping. I will never forget his ever lasting happy grin.

My condolences to the family and friends.

Dear Todd, Cath, Tori, Jordyn, Alexander, Nicholas & Aliyah,
We were so sorry to hear about the sudden passing of Big Lar. My Mom, his only sister, would have been so sad to hear of his passing. He was such a thoughtful man, never forgetting any of his extended family on their birthdays or anniversaries, even after all of these years! We always enjoyed our time with your Dad/Grandad and loved to hear his laugh as he shared every detail of his long winded stories, sometimes with tears running down his cheeks, just like his own Dad when he would share stories with all of us.
Please accept our deepest condolences. We are thinking of all of you.
With love, Jen, Bruce, Katie, Maddie & Will xoxoxoxoxo

My name is Dorothy Geertse and I’m a resident at Amica Newmarket and I became a close friend of Larry. He was such a kind man and made me feel so welcome when I moved in May of 2019. We shared a table in the dining room and enjoyed many good laughs together. He will be missed. My condolences to the family.
