Carolyn Ray Hayes

Carolyn Ray Hayes 78, of Mustang Ridge, died October 3, 2019. Born December 5, 1940. She leaves her three children Jeffery Wade Hayes and Joyce Marie Hayes of Mustang Ridge, and Sharyl Denise Lane of Lockhart; grandchildren Lisa Marie Hayes, and Justin Wray Lane; her sisters Sherry Kay Barnes and Theresa Lou Chambers, as well as several nieces, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and life-long family friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years JW Hayes, and her parents Mabel Sarah Wiley and Garland Jeff Wiley.

After months of health complications, her husband J.W. came to pick her up, ending any pain she had in this world to take her to the next.

Carolyn lived to love her family and she showed this with acts of kindness and service. Fifty years of marriage and the table always had supper on it, with a big breakfast on the weekends. She helped her children in every way she could and she always gave other people’s children a safe place to be. When the kids grew older and moved on there were grandchildren to spoil, and no animal that crossed her path would ever be homeless. All of the animals: dogs, cats, donkeys, goats, cows, chickens, and the last couple of years a peacock.
