Dorthey Lee Duckett

March 30, 1931 – July 15, 2020

Dorthey has now gone to her new home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ. After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s her fragile body was not able to defend itself from the virus known to us as COVID-19 .

Dorthey moved to Cedar Park, Texas in 1976 where she owned and operated her own insurance agency for over 30 years. She had a special interest in being a part of helping her community. To name a few, Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce, Cedar Park Public Library and she served as mayor of Cedar Park for 12 years.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her hospice nurse Sheila . She knowledgeably and faithfully led Dorthey and her family through the difficult journey of Alzheimer’s with love and the highest quality of medical care.

Due to Covid-19, the family wishes to have a private graveside with family and invited guests.

Dorthey is survived by her daughter Judy, grandchildren; Julie, Jaren. Jayme and Kirby, Jena and Aaron, Bradley and Becca, Brandon and Jayme. Her brothers, B.W. and Carlene, Doug and Theresa and many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Dorthey is preceded in death by her sons, Billy and Barry, parents Benie and Cecil Pruett, her sisters Ellen and Delbert McKenzie and Ruth and Jim Boatright.
