IN THE CARE OF
Weed Corley Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services
Elizabeth Ann “Lisa” Catania, 63, of Austin, Texas, beloved mother and grandmother, died December 28, 2022, at her home of complications from lung cancer.
Lisa was born on March 11, 1959, to John and Ann Petchul in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from high school, she worked for Thrall Car and Avery International until she moved to Indianapolis shortly before the birth of her son. After running an in-home daycare until her son was school-aged, Lisa enjoyed more than 25 successful years in the mortgage and real estate industries, culminating in nine years with Robinson Realty Services in Austin, where she worked as a licensed realtor.
Lisa always made people smile, with her generosity, positive attitude, and (sometimes) off-color humor, all of which will live on through her family and friends.
Lisa’s entire world revolved around grandchildren. Even though she lived far away, she made sure they never felt like the distance was vast, visiting them often and video calling with her grandkids all the time. She wanted to her grandkids to grow up to be strong, self-reliant individuals; one of her favorite things to say to them, with a big smile on her face of course, was “You’re big and strong, just rub some dirt on it!”
Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Petchul; father, John Petchul; and sister, Amber Brewer. She is survived by her son, Philip “PJ” Catania and grandchildren, Landon, Charlotte, and Emily; brother, John Petchul; nephew, Mitch Brewer; and nieces, Kelsey Brewer and Robin Petchul.
Please join us for a memorial service, which will be held on Thursday, January 26 at 1:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on 2620 S Congress Avenue, in Austin, Texas. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
