Texas Attorney and long time Breckenridge Hospital volunteer Imelda Martinez, aged 64, has been called to our Lord Jesus Christ on March 4, 2018 in Kyle, Texas.

She is survived by her parents, Jesus & Elena Martinez of Kingsville, Texas; her sisters Norma Gonzales of San Jose, California, Gracie Stillman, and Lisa Trevino both of Corpus Christi, Texas; her daughter Melani Camarillo and husband Rene Camarillo; her son Bryan Escobar and wife Jennifer Escobar, all from Austin Texas; four grandchildren, Jonathan and his wife Argelia, Alex, Jakob, Ariana; three great-granddaughters, Jordyn, Jaelyn, and one on the way; one great-grandson, Cain; lots of nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

Imelda is now resting in peace after a long battle with a debilitating disease and will be greatly missed. We take comfort in the fact that heaven will receive a wonderful new angel and that her suffering has now ended. We will miss you Nana!

I met Ms. Imelda at Jordyn’s first birthday party at Melani and Rene Camarillo’s home. She was very kind. I know that she will be missed. Melani, please know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Imelda was my mentor...patient, intelligent, funny...with a delightful giggle that I can close my eyes and still hear. We traveled all over the state for TEA and Imelda was the consummate educator, knowledgeable, friendly, and just plain fun to travel with. I remember when she introduced me to her parents, she was so proud of them...and her children and grandchildren...sharing their accomplishments with motherly and grandmotherly pride. I will always be grateful to Imelda for giving my son a St. Christopher medallion to protect him while he served in Iraq--and protect him it did. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you in your loss. We wish time spent with those we love would last forever, and my time spent with Imelda will last forever in my heart.
