Ivorine (Ivy) Herm, age 93, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at Brookdale Round Rock. Ivy was born March 30, 1925 to Ernst and Bertha Schoen in Pflugerville, TX.
After graduating from Round Rock High School Ivy moved to Austin and in 1949 was introduced to Harold Herm. They were married on May 14, 1949 and had 57 years together before Harold’s passing in 2007.
Ivy worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone company for 24 years, retiring in 1982.
Ivy was preceded in death by her parents and sister Delphine Ferrell. Ivy is survived by her daughter Brenda and husband Jerry White, grandson Jason White and wife Girlyne, grandson Jesse White, and great-grandson Jakob White, all of San Angelo. Also, sisters Lee Rather of Georgetown, and Gladys Thompson and her husband Tom Thompson of Hutto. Ivy is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many long-time family friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home on N. Lamar from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Anderson Lane on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 10:00 am. Graveside service will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
