Joty is preceded in death by her loving husband Walter Majka; her daughter Cheryl Greene; her son Steve Majka; her sister Arline "Bubs" Moylan; and her brother Dwayne "Sonny" Coleman.
She leaves behind cherished memories with her sister Billye Love; several nieces and extended family members who will forever hold Joty close to their hearts. Her legacy continues through the lives of two grandsons and their families: Mike Greene (Shana), Chance and Cooper; Steven Majka (Jenna), Nick & Jasmine.
Throughout Joty's life she found joy in simple pleasures such as quilting that reflected the love she had for those around her. Her passion for travel took her to far-off places where she collected fine things that held special meaning to her heart. As one of the founding members of Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church in South Austin, Joty's faith was an integral part of who she was.
Married for over 56 years as an Air Force wife allowed both she and Walt to live overseas. Despite these adventures abroad it was always clear that family came first for Joty - a sentiment echoed by everyone who knew this remarkable woman.
The impact that Joty has left on this world is immeasurable - from the intricate stitches woven into each quilt to the lasting memories shared with loved ones near and far. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten as we carry forward all that she taught us about love, strength and grace.
May we find comfort knowing that Joty now rests peacefully alongside those whom she loved so deeply during this lifetime.
