Laura graduated from Beeville High School in 1939. In 1940 she moved to Corpus Christi and accepted a position as a teller at Corpus Christi State Bank, where she met her future husband Roy Sachtleben. They were married for 56 years. Laura was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Laura was an active lady who was deeply involved with her church and family.
She is preceded in death by her husband and six brothers and sisters, and one granddaughter, Vicki Jennifer Sachtleben.
Laura is survived by her 3 children, her daughter Shirley Savage (Jim) of Houston, son Don Sachtleben (Gayle) of Edna, her son Wayne Sachtleben (Gigi) of Austin, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00pm on July 10, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3501 Red River Street, Austin, Texas 78705. Rev. Dr. Mark S. Nuckols will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Laura’s life.
