OBITUARY

Marie Rector

January 20, 1930October 7, 2020

Marie Haywood Rector was born January 20, 1930 in Bastrop, Texas to the late Garwood Haywood and Ella Craney. Bastrop, Texas is where she would grow up to attend church, school, and meet friends.

Marie married twice later in life. She had a total of fourteen kids. She received Christ as her Lord and Savior. She worked at Imperial 400 Motel and later retired from Motel 6 in Austin, Texas in 1995. With more life to live, she enjoyed cooking, baking, cleaning, and working in her garden.

On October 7, 2020 Marie Haywood Rector was called home to be with the Lord at the age of 90 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Booker T., Essie, Owen, Marvin, Andy, Howard, Malcolm, Jim, Tommy, and Ellis; two sisters, Wilma and Estella; four sons, George, Robert, Clarence, and Terry, and one daughter, Sharon.

Marie is survived by her children; Ellen, Garwood, Wilma, Charles Earl, Lillian, Charles, Joyce, Margie, and Timmy, as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

Special thanks to all of those that have sent flowers and food. Extra special thanks to Alyssa Ojeda, Mariah Elias, Tyricka Hicks, Tina Washington, Marida Carter, Tia Haywood, and Nicole Darby. If I forgot your name, thank you.
