Ronald George Bossard

April 27, 1942June 12, 2020

Ronald “Ron” Bossard passed away June 12, 2020 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born April 27, 1942 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and became the adopted son of George and Elaine Bossard of St. Paul. Ron and his sister Janice attended Johnson High School and his class would have celebrated its 60th Anniversary this year.

He grew up and lived in St. Paul before he and his wife Yvonne “Bonnie” and daughter Nicole “Nikki” transferred to Austin, Texas in early 1986, where he continued his engineering design career in the 3M TelCom Department. He earned several patents and traveled extensively, nationally and internationally, for 3M Fiber Optics Standards.

Ron’s favorite sport was golf, although being a fast-pitch softball pitcher was the most demanding of his athletic abilities. He was a self-taught car mechanic who loved to drive and had a thing for the design and engines of German autos. At one time, he owned a Mercedes, a BMW and two Porches in various stages of drivability.
