I just need to say that I am honored, blessed, proud and privileged to be my father's daughter.  He was a man of integrity and dignity.  He was my hero; anything I ever needed as a child or adult I would call my "daddy" and he'd take care of it.  He and my mom are the two most important people in my life and, although, he is no longer with us,  I will carry him in my heart FOREVER.  He has made me the person I am.  I know he was proud of me and his entire family.  
While it hurts my heart that he is gone, I am comforted by the fact that I had him as long as I did and had such a great daddy-daughter bond. 
He is one of the best people in this world and he knows that I will LOVE HIM FOREVER!!!!

"Uncle" Sal was my favorite uncle.  It was years into my childhood before it was explained to me that we were not actually blood relations.  I was incredibly disappointed!  He and Helen were my parents dear friends and I loved nothing more than when they came to our house and I could hear them laughing and talking at our kitchen table.  Uncle Sal would have coffee and laugh so hard he'd inevitably bang the table with his hand in his hysterics.  When I heard that sound, I'd stop whatever I was doing so I could go to the kitchen and be a part of it!  He and my Dad were in the police department together and also volunteer firemen together so that meant we also were fortunate enough to spend time with one another at the family picnics and at the annual NB Fire Co. Christmas party for the kids.  
Later, when my husband was in office, Uncle Sal became part of our security detail.  He was assigned to me at the inauguration and when a man got too close he was there like a shot, stepping in between us to confront him.  I knew from that moment on that whenever he was there, not only would he guard me with his life, but he'd keep me laughing all the way home.  I count myself very lucky to have had that time with him to talk and joke around.  He made the sometimes unbearable, bearable.  It was suggested to me that perhaps I should stop calling him "Uncle" while we were at county events, but I just couldn't do that.  It was a term of honor and endearment for my favorite "uncle".  Thank you for all the memories, Uncle Sal.  

Sal, talked me into becoming a police officer, since around 1955 or6 we have been friends, we hunted, fishing, and orked at the firehouse many years. we worked the wounded warriors picnic and it was Sal who got me going to all these functions . Our families called Sal & Helen aunt and uncle, I call him my brother. I will always miss him. Till we meet again Sal!

We are so  sorry for your family’s loss. Sal will always be remembered for his sense of humor and adventurous nature trying to keep up with the grandkids. He will surely be missed by all especially the youngest members of the family too.

Dear Aunt Helen and family,
     What can I say about a man who I have admired and loved my whole life. Uncle Sal was a charismatic, vibrant man, who was brave and loyal. I'll never forget all the Christmas parties, picnics and fun beach days with the NBFD. Also enjoying Police Week in Yaphank with SCPD, watching you and dad barbecuing. I'll always cherish those memories. My heart goes out to you all.
