Dr. Homer Keiffer Myles Jr. was born August 13, 1923 in Dermott Arkansas to Homer and Augusta Myles.
Homer left home after graduating high school at age 14 to attend Dillard University for two years. After two years at Dillard University he transferred to Morehouse College in Atlanta where he earned his bachelor's degree. He went on to attend Howard University's School of Dentistry in Washington D.C. Homer served his country in both WWII and the Korean War.
In 1947, while working at a dentist laboratory in San Francisco, He was recruited to start private practice with Dr. Williams in Bakersfield. Homer married his wife Evangeline "Vangie" Hibbler in 1960. In 1982 he retired from private practice, though he continued to provide dental services at Tehachapi Prison for more than 10 years.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Vangie and his two sisters Jacqueline Smith and Mildred Evans. He is survived by his sister Julia Grant, a niece Gwendolyn Nicholas, two nephews Homer Evans and Paul Grant, along with a host of loving family and friends.
