Ida Medina Nunez

June 15, 1934 – August 14, 2024

Ida was born in Delano, CA on June 15, 1934 to Eligio Medina and Herminia (Miranda) Medina. The first

born of eleven children, Ida had a helping hand in raising her siblings and always commented that she never had dolls to play with, but the real thing. Consequently, she only had one child. Ida attended schools in Delano, graduating in 1952 from Delano High. In 1954, she married Joe M. Nunez and moved to Bakersfield to continue a new chapter in her life. Ida worked many years as a clerk for Vest Drug Store, Say-On and Longs Drugs. Always a people person, she made countless friends along the way, and touched many lives. Ida was very creative and loved decorating and show casing her creations. Ida was prayer warrior and her strong faith was witnessed by many. Now she is receiving her heavenly reward and rest with her Lord and Savior.

Predeceased in death by parents, Eligio and Herminia, husband Joe Nunez, brothers Joe Medina, Eligio Medina and sister Norma Varela.

Ida is survived by son, Dr. Joseph Nunez and wife Wendy, granddaughter Ann-Marie Legarreta, (Ray) and great grandsons Zander Legarreta and Ezra Legarreta.

A visitation for Ida will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hodel's Country Dining, 5917 Knudsen Dr, Bakersfield, CA 93308. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 5917 Knudsen Dr, Bakersfield, CA 93308. A reception will occur Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 5917 Knudsen Dr, Bakersfield, CA 93308. A graveside will occur Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
