Ronnie Echano Santua, age 87, of Bakersfield, California passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020. Ronnie was born March 28, 1933 in Alicomohan, Philippines, Philippines.

A visitation for Ronnie will be held Friday, October 2, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306. A burial will occur Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, California 93306. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.

From the Santua Family:

Ron Echano Santua was born March 28, 1933 in Alicomohan, Sugbongcogon, Misamis Oriental, Philippines to Facundo Santua and Demetria Echano. He passed away September 21, 2020 in Bakersfield, California after a sudden, brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Fausta Santua, children Frank, Grace and Ron Jr Santua, grandchild David Michetti with his wife Dolores and their children, David Jr, Daylin and Deja Michetti. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War. Ron served honorably in the US Navy for 20 years, achieving the rank of Chief Construction Electrician.

Ron's hobbies included being a gracious and welcoming host to family and friends, fishing on his boat, home projects and tending to his garden with his wife, Fausta.

Ron is remembered as a loving husband, supportive father and valued his time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in his passing by his grandchild, Chase Santua.
