Kragg Philip "Phil" Kysor, a long-time resident of Edgewood, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 30, 2018 following a brief illness. Born in New Haven, Connecticut on November 18, 1937, Phil was the son of the late Helen Eunice (nee Crocker) and Kragg Fancher Kysor. He was 80 years of age.

Phil graduated from Plainville (CT) High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Boston University. He served in the United States Army from 1960 through 1963. Phil worked as a research psychologist for the Department of Defense/Army Research Laboratory, based at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, from 1964 until his retirement in 2004. During his time as a civilian employee with the Army, he earned his Master of Arts degree in psychology from Towson University. Phil's research focused on psychopharmacology and later on artillery systems, publishing many studies. He belonged to the Human Factor's Society, a professional organization related to his area of expertise.

Phil was an accomplished musician, playing the piano and organ all his life, and often entertained at events. He was an active member of the Sons of Norway/Nordkap Lodge 3-215 for many years and edited the Sons of Norway newsletter. Phil loved to travel, especially to Scandinavian countries, taking many photos during his trips. Upon returning home he used his photography and videography skills to create film travelogues.

Just prior to his death, Phil was honored for his military service in a ceremony by members of the "We Honor Veterans" program sponsored through Amedisys Hospice.

Phil is survived by his sister Linda A. Fore of Fort Myers, Florida, brother William H. Kysor and sister-in-law Joan Kysor of Dallas, Texas, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother-in-law, Gordon Fore.
