JOHNNIE L. HENSON, 87, was called home Sunday, November 9, 2014. She was a member of Frayser Baptist Church and the 39 er’s chorus group. Mrs. Henson was an avid gardener and a dedicated caretaker of the Vietnam Memorial in Frayser. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which she absolutely adored. Mrs. Henson was preceded in death by two sisters, Florance Byrd, and Walta Cook, and two brothers, Robert Murphy and Charles Murphy. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Everett D. Henson, Sr.; two daughters, Cynthia Henson of Millington, TN, Julie Henson of Cordova, TN; one son, Everett Henson, Jr. (Gennette) of Cordova; one sister, Patricia Ricketts (Charles) of Germantown, TN; one brother, Thomas Murphy of West Memphis, AR; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 11 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd.
