

She was born May 29, 1934 in Mill Creek, IL to Calvin and Jessie (Smith) DeWitt. She married Richard Gorman and later Married Richard “Jerry” Bushong Sr. on October 5, 1962 in Peoria. He passed away on July 19, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, her infant daughter Debbie Linn Gorman, 1 brother James DeWitt, and two sisters Mildred Hileman and Mary Keith.
Surviving are her children Richard “Little Jerry” Bushong Jr. of Hanna City, Vicky (Bernie) Cluskey of Mapleton, Tammy (Rich) Kalb of Hanna City; three step-daughters Brenda (Bob) Fearson of Peoria, Judy (Louie) Murphy of Sparland, Gerri Lee Bushong of Washington; one step-son Raymond Lee Gorman of California; six grandchildren, Terri (Jim) Los, Samantha Bushong, Matt (Fiancé’ Courtney Raynor) Brown, James (Tiffany) Bushong, Jodi Cluskey, Casey Motz; seven step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and her dog Lucky.
Dorothy owned and operated Jean and Jerry’s Restaurant in Hanna City for 25 years retiring in 1995. She was past Grand Marshall of the Heritage Days Parade. She also loved to bake pies and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and their sporting events.
She was also a member of Hanna City United Methodist Church where she served on several committees and was a volunteer caregiver for the elderly.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Hanna City United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Thursday prior to services at Church. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
