He was born on March 23, 1940 in Pana, the son of the late Wilbia Jester and Vivian Starnes. He married Kathy Krueger on March 31, 1999. She survives.
Marion is also survived by one daughter, Rhonda (Jon) Morris of Mapleton; step-children, Rhonda (Louie) Letizia of Indiana, Debbie (Dave) Turk of Clinton, MO, Keith Shinnefield of Bartonville, and Toni (Jeff) Farrell of Overland Park, KS; one brother, Don Jester of Peoria; one grandson, Brandon Morris; one granddaughter, Brittany Morris; and thirteen step-grandchildren.
Marion, known to friends and family as Jess, graduated from Limestone Community High School in 1959 and then enlisted in the United States Navy in 1960 and served until 1964. He then worked at Keystone Steel & Wire Co until his retiring after 37 years.
Jess was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers. He loved reading, golfing, learning how to use the latest technology, sharing his wisdom and humor with anyone who would listen, and was thankful to spend time with his family members, especially his cat, Buddy.
A Celebration of life will be Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 2-4:00 pm at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Point Hospice.
