Norma J. Shockley

She was born on January 23, 1930 in Peoria to David R. and Gladys (Weidman) Archdale. They preceded her in death.

Norma married the love of her life Harold Henry Shockley on May 21, 1950 in Peoria. He preceded her in death.

Norma graduated from Farmington High School and went to beauty school. She owned her own shop from 1960-1964, and then went on to work out of her home as a hairdresser while raising her daughter. Norma went to work as a sales clerk at Famous Barr from 1985 to 1997, when she retired to care for her ailing husband.

She is survived by her one daughter Hallie (Collin) Clougherty, two grandchildren; Emily and Nathan Waldman. One brother Gary (Shirley) Archdale, many nieces and nephews, and a special family friend R. Kent (Jackie) Snowden.

She was preceded in death by her brother Alfred Archdale, and sister Clara Orman.

A visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 pm on Sunday July 22, 2018 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel with a prayer service starting at 5:00 pm.

A burial will be held 11:00 am on Monday July 23, 2018 at Smithville Cemetery in Hanna City IL, officiated by nephew Dan Archdale.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Logan Trivoli Volunteer Fire Department.
