Shirley Anna Janey Vaughn

Shirley Anna Janey Vaughn, 67, of 143 Edgehill, Drive, Collinsville, devoted mother, wife and grandmother, died Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville-Henry Co. She was born in Henry County, January 19, 1943, a daughter of the late John Walker Janey and Ruth Hall Janey. Shirley was a lady who possessed a variety of talents and skills as demonstrated by her experiences in nursing, child care, floral arranging, and retail sales. She had attended Stone Memorial Christian Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Nancy J. Gibbs, and two brothers, Robert W. Janney, Sr. and Noah Joseph Janney. Surviving are her husband Joe H. Vaughn, Sr., of the home, two sons, Joe H. Vaughn, Jr. and his wife Connie of Roanoke, and Tim W. Vaughn of Richmond, a sister, Jane J. Whitlow of Collinsville, three brothers, Headley Janney, John Walker Janney, Jr., Roy H. Janey all of Collinsville, and two grandchildren, Virginia Kent Vaughn and Joseph Brock Vaughn. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Bassett, with Minister Lawrence Harris officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Monday, at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Bassett.
