Benny was very proud of his mining career. He started working for Homestake Gold Mine in Lead, S.D. at age 18. In 1978, he ventured into the safety aspect of mining and started work with Mine Safety and Health Administration. After nearly 40 years with MSHA he retired as the Supervisor for the Albuquerque, NM Field Office. Benny loved to talk about his MSHA adventures to anyone who would listen especially with Brandon Garrett and Victor. After his retirement, Benny liked to play poker either at the casino or on his iPad and the occasional bingo. He also enjoyed participating in the poker tournaments with his son, Ron. Benny’s greatest passion was his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. All of whom he loved with all his heart. Benny is survived by his wife Connie, his dear sister Vickie (Kerry) Barker, his children Benita Dupuy, Ron (Lori), Derald (Marilyn), Heather (Craig) Lyons, Misty (Elayna Rose), Tashie (Craig) Lundberg and BJ (Andrea) Terry. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Benny was preceded in death by his beloved son, Brandon David; his parents, Ben and Rose, 4 brothers Billie, Donnie, Bobby and Stevie and 6 sisters Glenda, Betty, Gloria, Peggy, Dixie and Brenda. Benny’s ashes will be buried beside his son in Gillette, WY. Services and internment will be held in Gillette, WY and will be announced at a later date.
