Erline M Chavers

On February 4, 2019, Erline Morgan Chavers, entered into heaven. She was born May 4, 1926 in Indian Bayou and raised in Crowley, LA. She lived most of her adult life in Baton Rouge. She was a loving wife to Paul R. Chavers, a wonderful mother to her son, stepson, and stepdaughter, a devoted grandmother and great grandmother, a daughter and caring sister to her six sisters and one brother. She was a strong and independent southern lady and devoted most of her later years as a caregiver to several sisters, husband, and mother. She was Aunt Erline to many loving nephews, nieces, and their children. She was an avid fisherman who loved to spend many weekends at False River fishing on her pier or in the flats. She is survived by her son, Rick Morgan; grandson, Rick Morgan II, his son, Kai Morgan; granddaughter, Melissa Morgan, her husband, Isaiah Behnke and their son, Miles Behnke; her stepdaughter, Sherry Chavers, her children, grandchildren, and stepson Dallas Chavers, his son and grandchildren; her sister, Iva Shaw, her children; her brother, Jack Morgan and his wife, Dot and many nieces, nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lemuel, and Eva; her husband, Paul R. Chavers; her sisters, Opal, Ola, Jessie, Bessie and Viola. Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Services at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA, on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until services time. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to thank her compassionate caregivers Trudy, Tammie and the entire staff at The Crossing Hospice on Bluebonnet Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Crossing at Clarity Hospice.
