An adored husband and father, he passed away early Monday morning, June 11, 2018. He was 60, born on September 10, 1957 to his parents James Victor Morris, Jr. and Nannie Ruth Carson Morris, in Baton Rouge, LA. He was, above all, a man of faith, devoted to his family, community, and church. He is survived by wife Cindy Rogers Morris and children Matthew Wayne Morris and Michael James Morris. For over thirty years, he was the business owner of James Morris Associates, LLC, where—more than accounting and bookkeeping—he loyally invested in relationships, supporting and counseling clients through difficult times, and sharing his heart and life with them year after year. He served for more than twenty years as an elder at Resurrection Life Church. His church, the advancement of world missionary work, and most of all, his personal relationship with Christ defined his life. He was a remarkable, sensitive man, who overcame life’s challenges with a sense of adventure and lively storytelling. He took pleasure in gardening, music, voracious reading, and his loving family. “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18) Visitation and Burial Services are to be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 18, 2018, with services at noon. Flowers would be appreciated by the family (although, to be honest, Butch hated carnations).
