Laura Marie Schatzle passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020, at the age of 79. She was a native of Baton Rouge, LA. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a best friend to her five children. Laura is survived by her children, John Schatzle and wife, Shanan, Jimmy Schatzle and wife, Lori, Cindy Melancon and husband, Joey, Sandra Flores and husband, William, and Jerri Sylvest and husband, David; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sister, Anna Brent and husband, Ray; brother, Steve Lusk; sister-in-law, Katie Ellis; nieces, nephews and numerous other family members. Laura is preceded in death by her husband, Cyril “Rene” Schatzle; daughter, Janis Schatzle; and parents, Al and Laura Lusk. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, October 16, 2020, from 8:30AM until 10:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Ligouri Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd., Greenwell Springs, LA, at 11:00AM. She will be missed by so many loved ones , she was such a beautiful soul , she was a very honest, smart, intelligent sweet lady , she loves her family so much , and she made the best home made rolls , loved her Chicken pot pies , and so much more ! We have lost a beautiful soul, someone whose love always made you feel like you were her own. She's been "Mawmaw" for over 40 years to everyone in our family. She had a heart of gold and I will truly miss her and her beautiful smile. My prayers and condolences to everyone in the family.
