Maudry Collums, a native of Brownsville, MS and resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on January 12, 2019 at the Carpenter House Hospice Care, at the age of 92. A longtime member of Florida Blvd Baptist Church, she enjoyed listening to the gospel and singing hymns and spending time gardening. She was totally devoted to her family and always ready to help others in need. Ms. Maudry retired after 25 years with the Women’s Hospital as a nurses’ aid.
She is survived by two children’ daughter, Barbara Gail Swanson (Donald) of Baton Rouge, LA and son, Danny Lee Collums (Mary) of Maurepas, LA.; grandson, Trent Aaron Collums of Baton Rouge, granddaughter, Brooke Nicole Swanson of Wilmington, NC; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Trent Collums and Noah Allen Frusha.
She is preceded in death by, parents William Lee and Clara Bell Hardy Goode; three sisters, Bell Beard, Annie Dawson and Dorothy Cody; three brothers, Robert “R.L” Goode, Howard Goode and William Goode, all of Mississippi and one grandson, Scott Brandon Collums of Baton Rouge.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA, on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 10:00am until funeral service time of 12:00pm. Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pastor Bobby Ready will officiate.
