ADD A MEMORY
Pito(Jose) and Paula Flores

January 16, 2020

As the 1st born son, Nenen lived his life in a manner to which all of his brothers and sisters proudly looked up to him. He was a man of dignity and honor. To the siblings he grew up with there was never a lack of love and respect.
In his later years he was to meet and come to know 2 additional brothers, Pito and Elvyn, that time and fate had deprived him of and they him.
From the day we met, he graciously, lovingly, and honorably embraced and accepted Elvyn and I as his brothers who had simply returned home from a long journey abroad. In the same manner, he accepted my wife Paula as the sister-in-law that he had not seen for some time.
Thereafter we corresponded as best we could. We introduced him to, and annually sent him persimmons from our tree. Paula got a kick about the fact that Nenen thought the persimmons were a strange tomato variety. Every year we looked forward to sending some to him.
Though we did not expect anything in return, he and Toni nevertheless did. From our "Isla del Encanto" to our residence in California, Nenen and Toni sent us P.R coffee, pastas de guayaba y mango, traditional P.R cookies and other "dulces" ect.
Whatever they sent us we shared with our California P.R. family members. But always there was something we hid and kept to ourselves ---- his brotherly love.
And so the years have past much to quickly. We didn't get to do the many things brothers look forward to doing. He looked forward to the days when we could visit and enjoy time with him and Toni at their 2nd home. Time stole that experience from us --- but time can never take away from us "our mutual brotherly love".
You showed us how to appreciate and love our sisters and brothers and from her heavenly home our mother nods and smiles.
You will be joining all that have left this world before us. Pack your suitcase well and remember this well-- this brother's suitcases will in time be placed side-by-side leaning lovingly next to yours. LOVE YOU BROTHER

I love my brother and may he rest in peace. Wish I could be there with you all. He was a good brother and when we were young we were happy to see each other. Eddie, Carlos and Greg grieve as well.

Con much carino
