Marsha Lynn Singletary, age 85, loving mother of three, and adoring wife to Don Singletary, passed away peacefully in her family home on Sunday, June 19, 2022. She was born on January 17, 1937, in Dallas, Texas to her mother, Mary Maudine and her father Charles Hayden Cole.
Marsha and her younger sister, Vicki Lynn Cole Davis moved with their parents when she was in her teens to Houston where she attended John H. Reagan High School and graduated in 1955. She and the love of her life, Don Benford Singletary, met in high school and were married in 1957. They started their young family in the Memorial area of Houston, but she spent 49 years of her adult life in Baytown, Texas, where they ran their family-owned Kwik Kopy printing business and raised three busy and devoted sons, Gregory Charles of Baytown, Jeffrey Don of League City, and Robert Scott of Houston.
She and her husband Don were long time members of Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church in Baytown where she served as a Preschool teacher for years and enjoyed prayer groups and the special friendships she developed along the way. She chose to attend Lee Junior college and University of Houston at Clearlake to acquire her teaching certification and went on to serve Goose Creek ISD for 17 years as a devoted 1st grade teacher at Alamo Elementary. She retired in 2002 and spent her newfound free time traveling with her husband, serving her community by delivering for Meals on Wheels and putting lots of energy and time into spoiling their five granddaughters, Jensen, Peyton, Ruby Kate, Caroline, and Catherine, as well as her two daughters-in-law, Jennifer, wife of Jeff, and Jessica, wife of Scott.
Marsha was an avid reader, loved collecting Hallmark ornaments and watching Elvis movies, but most of all, she loved caring for and cheering on her family more than anything! She is finally in her resting place in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior with her father, her mother, her sister, her only niece and her precious husband. She will be deeply missed and remembered for many reasons, but mostly, she will be remembered for the way that she consistently loved unconditionally.
A graveside service at Cedarcrest Cemetery is scheduled for Thursday, June 30,2022 at 10:00 a.m. located at 3010 Ferry Rd. Baytown, Texas. All are welcome to attend.
