Rick was one of the good guys, always ready to jump in and help with whatever project was at hand. His welding was nothing less than art.

Growing up in Kingsbend, well I loved Mike, Matt & Mark. I was Matt's age, and worked with him at Hathaway's. My brother was Mark's age but we knew all 3 and had so much fun and respect for Mr. Damge, brother he meant business! I guess that's why we all turned out fair, as he would say. Great man, gonna be missed.

It was on a warm sunny afternoon in 1969 while standing in formation before my evening shift in Danang Vietnam when my supervisor asked if anyone knew this Marine standing near by. Yes I said it is my Cousin Rick. I was dismissed and allowed to have the night off to visit Rick. I was able to see him there a few more times and certainly not enough since. Rest In Peace Cousin.
