Robert M. Ward, 81, of Baytown, TX passed away November 27, 2018. He was born February 10, 1937 in Port Neches, TX. He worked in Beaumont where he met the love of his life of 48 years, Mary. They moved to Baytown in the early 70’s to pursue his career as a lineman. He worked as a lineman for over 50 years before he went on to attend Texas A&M University. Mr. Ward retired from the City of Houston and began working Security for Coastal Water Authority where he worked until he became ill on Nov. 9th, 2018. He thoroughly enjoyed his security work. He was a member of I.B.E.W LU 66 for 50 years where he served as Vice President for one term in the early 90’s. He was an avid football fan and could name the team stats of nearly every team. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and will be sorely missed.
Mr. Ward is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Jefferson Ward and Ruby Saunders Ward, and his sister Tomasine Ward Oliver. He is survived by his wife Mary A. Ward of Baytown, TX, his children Robert Ward Jr. and wife Angela of Lufkin, Pam Hospador and husband Steve of Beaumont, Rhonda Ward of Baytown, and Michael K. Ward of Baytown, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Serving as Pallbearers are Jimmy Thompson, Stephen Hospador, Dakota Ward, Zachary Tatom, Jonathan Ward, Jordan Ward, and Steve Hospador.
