03/06/1923 - 06/09/2019 Josephine Elenora Szczypiorski Josephine was born in La Porte, Indiana to Jacob and Eleanora Bladecki and was a sister to Anthony Bladecki and Elizabeth Bartoszewicz. She was a wife and mother who loved her family very much and did everything for them. A great homemaker with lots of love. She was married to Henry James Szczypiorski at the age of 20 on January 15, 1944 and had 8 children together four boys and four girls. She was widowed at the age of 43 when Henry was in a fatal car accident January 22, 1967 and she then was left with 6 of the children under the age of 18 years old whom she then raised on her own. She became Mother and Father. She was a farmer for most of her life. From a child to about 45 years old. She also was a nurse’s aide and for many years done lots of different factory jobs from airplane parts to fishing gear. She bartended and also picked fresh fruit for extra income. Her favorite things to do were spending time with her family, she loved dancing and spent 40 plus years going polka dancing with 3 of her daughters who she taught to dance, she also liked crocheting and did other crafts as well, she loved cooking and she made the best apple pies and polish dinners. Her later years she loved playing slots at the casino. Her children are Henry Szczypiorski Jr. , Delphine Calderini, Joan Kempton, John Szczypiorski, Thomas Szczypiorski, Theodore Szczypiorski, Patricia Uribe and Barbara Hovious. She had 4 son-in-law’s Chuck Calderini, Dave Kempton, Exiquio Uribe, Scott Hovious and one daughter-in-law Linda Szczypiorski. She lost 2 of her sons John in February 1994 and Thomas in November 2018. She has 19 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. She lived on her own up until August of 2018 when she had a heart attack and survived. She then moved in with her youngest daughter Barbara (who she called “Baby” and sometimes Sissy) and son-in-law Scott where she lived her last months and days. She passed away at Barbara & Scott’s home in Riverside, California at 4:10 a.m. On Sunday June 9, 2019 with daughters Barbara and Joan and son-in-law Scott by her side. She was always a go getter and loved getting things done, she had a full life with many ups and downs but managed to always make the best of it. She had a strong catholic faith. And she was a very strong woman who managed on her own with her kids. She was kind, caring, giving, thoughtful and One of a Kind! She had a heart of gold and always wore her heart on her sleeve helping anyone out with anything she could. She was so thankful and appreciated anyone whom may helped her or did a kind thing for her. She could never thank them enough. She would clap her hands with Joy when anything made her happy and thanked the Blessed Mother and Saint Jude for the joy that was given to her. We were so very “BLESSED” to have had her in our lives. She touched everyone’s hearts through her amazing years of life and everyone she meant loved her. Many others called her mama because she was so easy to love. She’ll be missed dearly by her family and friends. And her “Baby” is going to be lost without her

What a beautiful human being Josephine was. I have lived next door to her 8 yrs, she was a spit fire when we met her 8 yrs ago, and up until she passed, she still had that fire in her! I loved to listen to her life stories, especially her dancing days.
Our little neighborhood will miss her and mourn her leaving. It’s hard to imagine her and her little dog will not be here, she will be really missed every Monday when we all gathered for our donut social.
Rest In Peace Josephine, you will be missed.
