Lois was a native of Woodville, Texas, she graduated from Sam Houston High School and went on to work as a bookkeeper. She retired as administrative assistant from Trum Advertising Agency in 1978.
Lois is survived by son, Eddie Howard (Michelle) of Silsbee, Texas; daughter, Melinda Smith (Don) of Bevil Oaks, Texas; grandchildren, Charlie Howard, Jessica Smith, Jeremy Smith, Johnathan Smith; great grandchildren, Cady Howard, Jordyn Howard, Charles Edward Howard, Erienne Pounders and Erika Pounders; niece, Ruthie Murphy; nephew, Stephen Thompson.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Loyd Earl Chambless; parents, James Alfred Powers and Pearl Gardner Hargraves; brother, Harmon Eugene Powers; sisters, Thelma Lou Powers and Elma Doris Thompson.
A Celebration of Lois' life will be held Monday, November 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Beaumont, Texas.
