Vicki Lee (Graham) Buhrle, 73, formerly of Topeka, Kansas, Fort Worth, Texas and Beaverton, Oregon, passed away on January 23, 2022. Vicki was born August 6th, 1948, to William Lee and Evelyn Mae (Russell) Graham in Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Russell High School, in Russell, Kansas in 1966.
Vicki believed that children, family and friends were the most important in her life. She started dating Steve Buhrle in her freshman year of high school, at the tender age of 14, he was 16 and a junior in high school. They eventually married, March 4th, 1967, and were married for 54 years until her death.
Vicki had many jobs throughout her adult life and the majority of her service was in the legal field. Her skills as a typist came in handy, as she could type at 115 words a minute and often as fast as a person could speak. She retired as an Executive Assistant to the General Council of Ben E. Keith Company, Fort Worth, TX, in August 2014.
Vicki was a talented person and bestowed her gifts on her community regularly. Her talents included, amazing cake decorating (something her friends and family still admire today,) she was a fantastic seamstress, and founding member of her sorority Tau Kappa Nu. Vicki was a long-time CampFire Kids volunteer that began with her daughter’s participation in the organization. Eventually, she became the Director of Day Camps and sat on the Board of Directors for years after her Child’s aging out of the program.
She loved her community and organized many fundraisers to support her beloved groups. As a dedicated mother, she made it a priority to be present at every dance or musical performance, tennis match, swim meet, softball tournament and other sports and academics of her children and grandchildren. Vicki encouraged involvement and shared her family’s accomplishments with anyone who would listen.
She is survived by her husband and Navy Veteran, Steven Rodney Buhrle, two daughters, Rebecca Sue Buhrle and Jennifer Joyce (Buhrle) Hood and Son-in-Law, Joshua Devin Lee Hood. Her three granddaughters, Rhiannon Altair Sue Hood, Savannah Iva Marie Hood, Cheyenne Lee (Buhrle-Hood) Evans, her husband Triston Roy Evans and two great grandchildren, Hudson Lee Evans and Kaycee Dawn Evans.
