Kannie Isabelle Sturgill, 90 years of age, passed away in the early morning on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House. Born on September 11, 1928 in Richlands, VA, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Rebecca Frances Lewis Nipper.
Mrs. Sturgill was a housewife and homemaker who resided in Midway, WV. She attended Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Ghent, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband, Harry Levi Sturgill of Midway, WV; son, Wayne Carr and his wife Linda of Deland, FL; son, Michael Carr of Hendersonville, NC; daughter, Rebecca Watson and her husband, Robert of Midway, WV; seven grandchildren, Melissa Gray, Jamie Vandall, Wayne Carr, II, Zachary Hartsog, Joshua Hartsog, Jennifer Maynard and Hayden Maynard; eight great-grandchildren, Meghan Gray, Emily Gray, Sam Gray, Logan Hartsog, Keirston Maynard, Hayden Maynard, Haven Hartsog and Levi Hartsog; and 1 great-great grandchild, Madelyn Gray.
The family visitation will be held from 11:00 am-12:00 pm with the family to receive friends beginning at 12:00 pm and until 1:00 pm on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Samuel Lilly officiating. Burial will follow the services at the Arnold Goode Farm–Sturgill Family Cemetery in Bear Hole (Pineville), WV.
