Milburn Benson Rinehart, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 2, 2023, after a long illness. Milburn loved the Lord Jesus Christ and lived his life with the motto “Maybe Today” our Lord will come.
Milburn was born on May 20, 1945, in Mullens, WV, to the late Johnny and Hettie Rinehart. He was married to the love of his life, Della Carolyn Phillips, for 55 years. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Lee. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; sons and daughters-in-law: John and Staci Rinehart, Brian and Leesa Rinehart; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Dan Armacost; 17 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; siblings: John (Joette) Rinehart, Shela (Gene) Latta, Lula (Richard) Reynolds, Marie (Ernie) Terry, David (Dianna) Rinehart, and Nancy Rinehart.
Milburn worked as a mining engineer and spent the last 20 years of his career working for MSHA in Arlington, VA. Since his salvation at age 10, he was a faithful member at various Baptist churches, serving many years as a deacon and in various ministries, most recently at Lester Baptist Church in Lester, WV. His heart for ministry is made evident through his children and many of his grandchildren serving the Lord in full-time ministry.
Friends may gather with the family on Tuesday, November 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley, WV. The service to celebrate his life will be at 1:30 p.m. following the viewing. Pastor Mike Edwards and Pastor Mike Tangeman will officiate.
