

Joyce Sanders Warren of The Woodlands, Texas,passed away on December 2, 2013.She was born Joyce Marlene Sanders to George and Elizabeth Sanders in Dayton, Ohio, Aug. 13, 1934. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Maj. Wadsworth (Pete) Warren III, USAF (Ret.). Joyce is survived by her sister Janet and her husband Ronald Kuschel, and their daughter Elizabeth, all of Spring Branch, Texas. She is survived as well by her sister-in-law Mary Eick, and her husband Dr. David Eick, of Kansas City, Missouri. Joyce is also survived by her son Michael and his wife Carole of Baltimore, Maryland; and her son James and his wife Jeanne of Fredericksburg, Texas. She also leaves behind cousins, nieces, nephews, 11 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Joyce graduated from Centerville High School, in Centerville, Ohio, and from Miami Valley Nursing School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University, and served briefly in the U.S. Air Force as a registered nurse.Joyce traveled extensively overseas, and donated her time as a nurse to the schools, the Cub Scouts, the Officers Wives Club, the well-baby clinic, and the Red Cross. She returned to full time nursing in 1975, spending over 20 years as a nurse in Bellaire, Houston, and Corpus Christi. She was a member of The Lions Clubs International, The American Red Cross, the Greater Houston Society of Gastrointestinal Assistants, and a life member of The Ohio State University Association.Joyce dedicated her life to taking care of friends and family, with little thought to herself.She brought light into every person’s heart she met, and will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at 11:30amTuesday, Dec. 10 at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund or to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
