Dolores Straub, nee Alderfer, age 93, of Belleville, IL, died Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Freeburg Care Center, Freeburg, IL.

Born November 30, 1924 in Belleville, IL, she was the daughter of the late John and Mabel Alderfer.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Straub, her son Craig Straub, and her siblings John Alderfer and Geraldine Schotemeyer.

Surviving are two children Cathy (Al) Downs of Hardin, KY and Scott (Beth) Straub of Belleville, IL; her daughter-in-law Cynthia Straub of Smithton, IL; five grandchildren Jennifer (Dale) Bader, Michael (Cassie) Downs, Kamela Straub, Amanda (Matt) Bridwell, Gregory (Becky) Straub; and seven great grandchildren Alex, Addie, Josie Bader, Lydia and Amelia Downs, Noah and Elizabeth Straub; her niece Barbara (Rich) Hughes and special friends Don and Ruth Ann Alewell.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude and special thanks to both the staffs at Freeburg Care Center and Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Visitation: Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 pm on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, located at 3412 Frank Scott Parkway West, Belleville, IL 62223.

Funeral: Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
